I reread through the “Magick & Martial Arts” thread on Lashtal several times before doing this blog.

When we live in a era where the physical world is being destroyed by various forms of violence to our fellow human and the planet, this thread saddened me that there are so many people out there who seem to be justifying their inadequacies and weaknesses has a form of occult or spiritual development. Violence is violence. No matter how you dress it up with fancy words ,and unusual cultures. It is still violence and pointless death, that serves no use for any spiritual or occult current.

Martial art is defined by the use of the human body. That body is finite in its use and application of living. In effect martial art is a finite system that doesnt have answers to very difficult questions on a occult level. There have been Martial arts practioners who have tried to use it to make humanity better. But they have failed to realise that no matter how much you dress up a punch or kick in pseudo oriental meanderings, the intention to kill ,cripple, and hurt your fellow man doesnt offer anything of a spiritual understanding or stability.

The inadequacies . limitations, and restrictions of martial art hold back the aspirant from any deeper understanding of themself, and in effect they allow the weak ego to create “enemies” and “opponents” who only exist in the mind of  the Martial Arts practioner. On a practical level i have seen this too many times where there are sucked in by the glamour of violence and the finite outlook that violence can solve their problems. Delusion is the best word for this if they think hurting people will make their spiritual path more beneficial. From my experience i have seen grown men get hurt ,because of this immature outlook on the world. There is nothing spiritual about a thug stamping on your head trying to kick the brains out of your ears. And to think so is deluded and finite. The weak ego justifys its existence using violence, fear and lies to maintain its hold on any aspirant who is sad and daft enough to buy into this type of lie.

If some people are offended by what i have said , then i am glad. Using the ability to destroy & control the human body, has a doorway to occult understanding is a non starter. If we took the illusion of violence to its natural conclusion,  then why not apply this argument to physical torture of the human body? If people are saying that martial art helps magickal practice then obviously , that must apply to torture has well. Both have the same purpose , to destroy the body and soul in application and technique. Like i said earlier on violence is violence, no matter how you dress it up. 

Its a bit like arguing that getting electrocuted in your testicles  will help you find your elusive HGA.  I look forward to your arguments.

Someone on Lashtal started an article on whether the goetia was Thelemic in action and practice. But this got me thinking…. Most people and a lot of so called occultists see  the goetia has evil and a Left Hand path. But what if it was the exact opposite? What if the goetia was the ultimate expression of Christian superiority over the goetia and the magician?

Most of the goetic texts pre dating the Mathers version take a much more Christian attitude to dealing with the entities. The starting invocation would make petition to the Christian god in his various names, Adonai, Tetragrammaton,, jehovah, Eloihim, etc. but thats not all. The texts would infer that the magician prostrate themself to the glory of the christian god and give him/herself over to the superiority of the said Christian god. That doesnt sound Left Hand path to me. Even when the goetic daimon is conjured the names of the Christian god are used to gain influence of the daimon. So in this context is the magican and the daimon not actually asserting Christian dogmatic values? Could it be that the goetia want to be redeemed in the eyes of the Adonai and the Eloihim? And if so what are the implications for occultists? Is the successful accomplishment of a task set by the magician an acknowledgement of the power of  Adonai and his cronies? Is the Goetic magician’s actions no different from the Catholic priest doing the Latin Mass for his congregation?

Going by the texts of the goetia it seems that a lot of Goetic magicans are heretical Christians who are a beacon for the glory of the various names of the Christian god. Who knows, maybe in a couple of decades the Goetia will be acknowledged by the Vatican…..

There is no difference between the Law , our love and our will.  When Thelemites start to see the deeper significance of the synchronicity between the Thelema, Agape and the Thelemic Law there is very little separating these in their practice.

In wanting to accomplish a certain level of “awareness”/Understanding in Thelema certain obstacles created by conditioning and ego must be defeated to create a clear path for Thelema and spiritual awareness.

Two of these enemies are Guilt & Blame. Guilt & blame are Qlippoth which squander time. They are essentially frozen moments, lacking vitality. Thet hold the mind in a place of shells. Until one can step away from blaming oneself or blaming others progress cannot be made. There is not doubt that guilt is a powerful tool. But has a tool of spiritual advancement it is very limited. You cannot get to a place of spiritual expansiveness through a method of constriction. It clouds the mind . Blame & guilt are self-made walls that block the path. ( The Way of Flame)

 

In this context what verse 09 is telling us is that genuine practioners have to train themselves to destroy the dishonesty of the ego to be free of restriction and obstacles to Thelema. In occult praxis this is even more apparent in dealing with the Olippoth who feed and develop on these meals of restriction. A Thelemite doesnt blame or attribute guilt to person or object. It is a futile thing to do, since its all an aspect of the ego corrupted self, “all sorrows are but shadows“. In one context if a person still needs to use blame & guilt has things to control or manipulate people and themself  then they cant seriously call themelves Thelemites. “they pass and are done”, this part of the verse shows what happens when the praxis helps to remove these illusions which cloud the mind in its purest form.

So what does the Thelemites gain from this removal? “but there is that which remains” . in one sense they are closer to their true will, but also they see the illusions more clearer than before and act accordingly, letting go of attatchment to these illusions which conditioned them before their journey to Thelema.

Just has a side note this scenario has been approached and experienced by someone else who has no experience of praxis but is an astral projector.

I was reading over The Ninth Arch. In it Frater Aossic details the nature of Nightside forces penetrating from the Outside into our level of consciousness. Now one of the issues involved in this is the “Vampiric” formulas that some of these Qlippothic forces/entites use to feed themselves. This can take varying forms. but a fair percentage of them are of a sexual nature.

In this context it would be interesting to focus on the usage of pornography on a global level. Over the last 15 years with the rise and consolidation of the internet , humanity has found a way to express and communicate without limitations ( for good and for bad). In a 2001 edition of Forbes magazine the revenue of internet pornography generated close to $3 billlion. (Note that this is the officially declared for Tax purposes and not all the other stuff…) Why mention this increase? Well the ability to satisfy the hidden urges ,needs , and sexual issues, has become common to the point where 40% of internet traffic is porn. In an occult context this is one of the ways how the Qlippoth feed themselves and latch on to humanity. This is important from a Thelemic point of view. When we can no longer project our will due to interference from the Qlippoth who seek to manipulate desires to corrupt Thelema and control the person using trigger points such has sex, violence , addiction, fear etc. So from the official figures the internet porn has become a new tool for the Qlippoth to manifest themselves and “come” through from the Outside into the collective consciousness in such a devastating fashion. So in this context Frater Aossic’s work was/is telling us that the only way to endure the presence of the Qlippoth ( because humanity will never be rid of them) is to cultivate true thelema & Agape. In doing so Thelemites become immune to the tricks and ploys of those from the Outside. Why pornography is such an effective tool for the Qlippoth is its base in our personal identity. We identify ourselves through our sexuality. And we base our choices and daily decisions on this. They seek to manipulate that , to deviate and corrupt it , therefore in doing so corrupting ourselves. Pornography suits their purposes for doing this. The intention is to keep us enslaved to our desires and to corrupt them to ensure that they feed on it for has long has they can. Ruthless but effective.

With those invading forces stabilising their position here on this planet now, adapting to the changing environment (seen and unseen) will probably be the priority for practioners and students alike for the foreseeable future.

 

The recent trolling on the forum got me thinking. Usually the microcosm is a reflection of the macrocosm. Therefore behaviour is being affected by something just now.

The year of the fire pig: 2007 is the year of the fire pig. Now in chinese astrology the pigs element is water. This is not good. When fire & water come together it equals disaster. Everywhere. The last time fire & water came together was when America invaded Iraq. This year will be a lot of hassle. Another reference point for the year of the pig was when Nixon was in charge of the Vietnam war/conflict.

But…..for the magickally inclined its a very good opportunity. Since the pig is the herald of Choronzon this year will also represent a time of discovery (good & scary) and a time to get close to the source to get a better understanding of the divine… So in that context the occultists will be having fun while around them everyone else will be finding it a bit tough going………  So the “destructive” Choronzon and the Fire Pig will be partners at the hip…. being lovers and disposing of what is not needed in our lives…….

Recently i got into a debate with a fellow who seemed to have a strong opinion on Thelema and Crowley. Now the fellow was of the Wiccan persuasion and didnt seem “grounded” in his thoughts or opinions. Now he was giving all the usual stereotypes and cliches about Crowley and Thelema. Now i decided that there was no point trying to debate his misconceived views, so i just introduced the fact that Gardner was actually one of Crowley’s underlings in the OTO in America. The look on his face was priceless. I said “So i assume you will be changing your opinion on Crowley and Thelema? No he said. “Gardner was superior to Crowley in so many ways” He said. It amazed me that someone had allowed the personal beliefs to become so corrupted to turn them into arrogance. Being Thelemic , i followed the principles of “do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law” and i didnt challenge him. I left him to it. The principles of Thelema can have a sting in the tail. Sometimes people learn more about life in the spiritual prisons they have created for themselves………

Some of the posts over the last couple of months have tried to use the writing in the Thelemic Holy Books to promote their unthelemic ideas and rants. Some people were even daft enough to try to tie up 9 11 with Crowley!! Clowns.

Anyway the amount of study to utilise the Holy Books is not overwhelming but you do need to have a grasp of Crowley’ training and how he perceived Magick. And Crowley’s main love/hate was the Qabbalah.

In a literal sense the books can be taken straightforward has an interpretation of the work of Thelema from the Beyond.And some Thelemites dont take it any further , and just seem to accept it has untouchable. ……… But…..

Using the Qabbalah, the holy books start to come to life and open up a deeper meaning behind the ideas and concepts involved in the transmissions of Knowledge to Crowley.The basic use of Gematria / Isosephy helps to show that the words used in the books convey a much deeper meaning/resonance.With regard to Yetzirah this is where the books start to reveal their relevance to magickal praxis. Some of the Liber are explaining the significance of the rituals and how the Liber help you get a rich experience from the rituals.

This is where the Qabbalah helps you to create from the Liber and to create and “mold” your true will. Once you you have developed a “relationship” with the books/Liber this Understanding remains with you. And with that Understanding the books can manifest through your will in Praxis. ( “The more i learn the less i know”)

The pinnacle , the crown. This is where after all that Praxis and study, you will own the meaning of the grimoires in your heart and move on to welcome a new chapter/book into yourself from the magickal “links” you have developed through the books over the years. In the truest sense the Liber will “Emanate” through you on to the environment around . You will have become an instrument/vessel of pure True Will……..

Of course many people will say “ooh Qabbalah , isnt that what that pop star Madonna does?” And all you will have to say is, ” Have you ever heard of Aleister Crowley? He was an amazing Qabbalist………”
